Love Not Fear

TODAY’S VERSE

“I, yes I, am the one who comforts you. So why are you afraid of mere humans?”
Isaiah 51:12 (NLT)

TODAY’S THOUGHT
What is the opposite of “love”? Our first answer would no doubt be “hate.” I use to think so. However, the longer I live, the more I believe “fear” is the opposite of love. True, if I am going to “act” the opposite of love, it would be to hate. But if I am going to “live” the opposite of love, it would be to live in fear! Fear keeps us from love’s reality. Fear tells us that the promises of love are nothing but lies. Fear chooses to doubt love’s sincerity. Worse, it doubts the lover. When we choose to believe fear, it means we have chosen not to believe God. He says, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” And yet we act as if we are abandoned, all alone with God no where is sight. We need to start seeing God as God. We need to give up our fear beliefs and start to beleive God. We need to meditate on His love for us and then appropriate that love to every moment in our life. He is the one who comforts us. He is the one who will never leave us. He is the one who will never stop loving us. Today, believe it, rejoice in it, live as if it is true. It is.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Father, I confess I live much of my life in quiet desperation. Fear is constantly challenging my faith. It stands between me and You. Today, I renounce that fear. I rebuke it in Your name and choose to believe in Your love for me. I believe you have not left me and will not forsake me. Help me, Father, to abandon fear and run to Your love. In Jesus’ name.
AMEN

About Ronald

I am a Christian who deeply believes in God and the purposes He has put us on earth for. I started in ministry when I was 20 years old. I have been involved in both evangelism and compassion ministires. I deeply believe in our mission to help those in need. I believe however, that the church has missed our calling. We have not been effective in loving others as we would love ourselves. We have not been using our Spiritual Gifts to make a difference in this world. We have not mobilized to be the salt and light in the world. The goal of this web site is to help those interested to use their Spiritual Gifts in order to fulfill the mission Christ has given us to love the world.
