Promised Land

TODAY’S VERSE

“The people refused to enter the promised land, for they wouldn’t believe his promise to care for them. Instead, they grumbled in their tents and refused to obey the LORD.”
Psalms 106:24-25 (NLT)

TODAY’S THOUGHT
There was a place full of peace and joy. It was the promised land, a land of “milk and honey”. But it was much more than that. It was the land God promised. It represented His presence, blessing and provision. Yet the people “refused to enter.” They refused to believe that God would care for them. We would like to think this only applied to the Israelites, but the truth is, we often feel the same way. A friend dies, we lose our job, misfortune is at our door and all of a sudden God seems distance, His promises shallow. We begin to grumble and the promised land begins to vanish. But just because we feel a certain way and begin to think negative thoughts doesn’t mean we have to continue that way. We have a choice. We can repent and take responsibility for our thoughts, renounce negative thinking and pronounce God’s truth. Today, choose faith. Put doubt, fear, anger, grumbling behind you. Choose to trust in God’s love and His promise to care of you.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Father, forgive me for grumbling. Forgive me for my lack of faith and doubt. Help me today to trust in You and believe Your promise to care for me.
AMEN

About Ronald

I am a Christian who deeply believes in God and the purposes He has put us on earth for. I started in ministry when I was 20 years old. I have been involved in both evangelism and compassion ministires. I deeply believe in our mission to help those in need. I believe however, that the church has missed our calling. We have not been effective in loving others as we would love ourselves. We have not been using our Spiritual Gifts to make a difference in this world. We have not mobilized to be the salt and light in the world. The goal of this web site is to help those interested to use their Spiritual Gifts in order to fulfill the mission Christ has given us to love the world.

Wow. This is right on time especially since I was grumbling last night. SMH! I definitely needed to read and say this prayer.
