Imitate God

TODAY’S VERSE

“Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are his dear children. Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us and offered himself as a sacrifice for us.”
Ephesians 5:1,2 (NLT)

TODAY’S THOUGHT
We tend to complicate things. We can take a simple message and make it complex. Isn’t that what we do with Christianity? We add our rules, traditions, and cultural nuances and soon we have nothing that represents what Jesus had in mind. We end up worshipping in Country Clubs and live our self-centered lives as if Christ never existed. But that is not what Paul taught. He shared a simple message. One that cuts to the core of the way we should live. His straightforward message is that we should imitate God, like a child does their parent. To make it clearer, Paul then writes, “We are to live a life that is full of love just like Christ did.” And why? Why should we live a life full of love? Because Christ loves us and offered Himself as a sacrifice for us. It doesn’t get clearer than that. He loves you. He sacrificed Himself for you. Go and do likewise.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Dear Jesus, help me imitate You in all I do. Help me to love others like You did and follow Your example of sacrifice for others.
AMEN

About Ronald

I am a Christian who deeply believes in God and the purposes He has put us on earth for. I started in ministry when I was 20 years old. I have been involved in both evangelism and compassion ministires. I deeply believe in our mission to help those in need. I believe however, that the church has missed our calling. We have not been effective in loving others as we would love ourselves. We have not been using our Spiritual Gifts to make a difference in this world. We have not mobilized to be the salt and light in the world. The goal of this web site is to help those interested to use their Spiritual Gifts in order to fulfill the mission Christ has given us to love the world.
