Spiritual Battle
TODAY’S VERSE
“A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm.”
Ephesians 6:10-14 (NLT)
TODAY’S THOUGHT
We need to remember that we are in a spiritual world and there is a war going on. We have an enemy of our very soul. But unlike a regular war, in this war we have an incredible advantage. Though there are powers against us, Paul tells us that we have the mighty power of God to help us every step of the way. Though we are in a fight, God has given us all the armor we need to be victorious. In actuality it is not our war, it is God’s and as we trust in Him, put on His whole armor, use His might and not ours, He assures us that when it is all over, we will be standing firm. Today, put all your trust in Him. Put on His armor and live today by faith; for this is true, the victory is ours.
TODAY’S PRAYER
Lord Jesus, I cannot win this spiritual battle in my own power. I ask for Your guidance to guide me and Your might to be my strength. Today I put on Your armor of righteousness, truth, the word, faith, the message of Your grace and gospel and the power of the Holy Spirit. Lead me in spiritual victory today I pray.
