God’s Power Is Our Strength

TODAY’S VERSE

“God is awesome in his sanctuary. The God of Israel gives power and strength to his people. Praise be to God!”
Psalm 68:35 (NLT)

TODAY’S THOUGHT
There are a lot of things that we need to make it through this life. Sometimes it is hard to ascertain what exactly to ask for. Today’s verse sets good guidelines to help us when we pray. First, God is awesome. We have every right to ask for His miraculous power to intervene in our situations. He is able to heal, change circumstances or to move in the hearts of people. We need to ask and expect God to be awesome on behalf of His people. And yet there is another side. Today’s verse also says that God gives power and strength to His people. Although we can ask God to show His love to others, has He not chosen you and I to be His love in this world? Paul wrote, “We are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” And who knew this better than David? After all it was David who picked up the stone and aimed at Goliath but God directed the stone. David said to Goliath, “You come to me with sword, spear, and javelin, but I come to you in the name of the LORD of Heaven’s Armies. – Today the LORD will conquer you and I will cut off your head.” God created you and I do be His ambassadors in this world and He gives us the strength and power to do His will. What a magnificent plan, God with His power working with and through us to do His will in this world. No wonder David ended saying, “Praise be to God!”

TODAY’S PRAYER
Father, I can’t live the life You want me to without Your power. Nor do I want to try. I come today and ask You to guide me, direct me, and fill me with Your power and strength. And may You show Yourself strong through all I say and do. To You be all the Glory!
AMEN

About Ronald

I am a Christian who deeply believes in God and the purposes He has put us on earth for. I started in ministry when I was 20 years old. I have been involved in both evangelism and compassion ministires. I deeply believe in our mission to help those in need. I believe however, that the church has missed our calling. We have not been effective in loving others as we would love ourselves. We have not been using our Spiritual Gifts to make a difference in this world. We have not mobilized to be the salt and light in the world. The goal of this web site is to help those interested to use their Spiritual Gifts in order to fulfill the mission Christ has given us to love the world.
