Why Worry?

TODAY’S VERSE

I sought the LORD, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.
Psalms 34:4 (NLT)

TODAY’S THOUGHT
Anxiety and fear can play havoc in our lives and so we worry. What is so ironic is that we think worry will squelch our fears but in reality all it does is keep them alive. Deep in our heart we feel we cannot face our painful emotions. We are afraid of our fear! Our fear must not be accepted or expressed lest I go out of control, be humiliated, rejected or worse. And so we worry, we do everything we can to avoid our painful emotions. But David knew the cure for worry. It wasn’t running from our emotions; instead, he took his fear directly to God. And God heard him and delivered him from all of them. God can do the same for you. It is like the old Sunday School song says, “Why worry when you can pray?” Today bring your fears to God and stop worrying.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Lord, forgive me for my incessant worrying. Today I seek You and bring You all my fears. Take them and help me to trust in You.
AMEN

About Ronald

I am a Christian who deeply believes in God and the purposes He has put us on earth for. I started in ministry when I was 20 years old. I have been involved in both evangelism and compassion ministires. I deeply believe in our mission to help those in need. I believe however, that the church has missed our calling. We have not been effective in loving others as we would love ourselves. We have not been using our Spiritual Gifts to make a difference in this world. We have not mobilized to be the salt and light in the world. The goal of this web site is to help those interested to use their Spiritual Gifts in order to fulfill the mission Christ has given us to love the world.
