Delight And Desire

TODAY’S VERSE

Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you your heart’s desires.
Psalms 37:4

TODAY’S THOUGHT
So many people have read today’s verse and say, “It sounds good but it is not true. God hasn’t given me the desires of my heart!” I would suggest the problem isn’t with God’s ability but more to do with our desires. The question we need to ask ourself is, “What are the desires of my heart? What do I really seek after?” You see the real key to today’s verse is in the first part, “Delight in the Lord.” If we are delighting in God, if we are seeking to live for Him, if He is the object of our desire, then what we truly desire in life will be given to us. What we delight in skews our desire. In turn our desires help us increase our delight! And so it goes on. Today, delight in God for He delights in you. When you do, He will give you the desires of your heart.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Dear Father, how I delight in You and Your love for me. How I desire to live for You. How I desire to love the way You do. How I desire to join You in Your work here on earth. Give me, Lord, the desires of my heart.
AMEN

About Ronald

I am a Christian who deeply believes in God and the purposes He has put us on earth for. I started in ministry when I was 20 years old. I have been involved in both evangelism and compassion ministires. I deeply believe in our mission to help those in need. I believe however, that the church has missed our calling. We have not been effective in loving others as we would love ourselves. We have not been using our Spiritual Gifts to make a difference in this world. We have not mobilized to be the salt and light in the world. The goal of this web site is to help those interested to use their Spiritual Gifts in order to fulfill the mission Christ has given us to love the world.
