TODAY’S VERSE
God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.
II Corinthians 1:3-4 (NLT)
TODAY’S THOUGHT
It’s hard to make sense out of our circumstances. Bad things happen to good people. The Bible teaches that it “rains on the just and the unjust.” The good news is that God is a merciful Father and He comforts us. So even though we cannot make sense out of our tribulation, we can find a purpose in helping others going through the same thing. Our comfort can help others. We can empathize and come next to someone that is hurting and help them the way God did us. We can take the resilience that God gives us and help others acquire the same. Today, take comfort in the fact that you can comfort others.
TODAY’S PRAYER
Dear Father, thank You for mercy in helping me. Help me to comfort others in the same way You comfort me.
AMEN
