TODAY’S VERSE
May God give you more and more grace and peace as you grow in your knowledge of God and Jesus our Lord.
II Peter 1:2 (NLT)
TODAY’S THOUGHT
When the soldiers came to get Jesus and take Him to the High Priests house for a bogus trial, Peter followed. He was asked three times if he knew Jesus. The third time Peter swore, “A curse on me if I’m lying—I don’t know this man you’re talking about!” Immediately the rooster crowed and Peter remembered that Jesus said he would deny him three times and he broke down and wept. Instead of allowing Peter his curse, Jesus meets him after His resurrection and reestablishes Peter’s friendship and ministry. Peter, years later, would begin both of his letters to the church with the prayer that God would grant the reader more and more grace and peace. Peter had experienced Jesus’ grace and peace and wants you to experience it too. Today throw away and false beliefs about yourself, any guilt, shame or perceived curses and let God give you more and more grace and peace as you grow in your knowledge of Him.
TODAY’S PRAYER
Dear Father, help me grow in my knowledge of You and Your son Jesus. May I experience Your grace and peace more and more.
AMEN
