Lose Heart

So do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being rewarded day by day.
2 Corinthians 4:16

There are many ways to lose heart. The one Paul is talking about is when circumstances go awry and we become deeply discouraged. It is as if the heart is taken right out of us. It seems that our life is gone. Paul is encouraging us not to lose heart in our circumstances because God can and will renew us if we turn to Him. The other way we lose heart is through apathy. It is a slower death, but death none the less. The problem here is that there is no renewing going on. No daily habits or consciousness of God to bring life back to our soul. Paul gave us the remedy for both spiritual dilemmas. He wrote, “May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.” It is this “fullness of life and power” that can renew us no matter how we lose our heart. Today, stop and ask the Holy Spirit to help you experience the love of Christ. Come near to Him. Let Him renew your heart.

Dear Father, renew my heart. Help me to experience the love of Christ with all its life and power.

About Ronald

I am a Christian who deeply believes in God and the purposes He has put us on earth for. I started in ministry when I was 20 years old. I have been involved in both evangelism and compassion ministires. I deeply believe in our mission to help those in need. I believe however, that the church has missed our calling. We have not been effective in loving others as we would love ourselves. We have not been using our Spiritual Gifts to make a difference in this world. We have not mobilized to be the salt and light in the world. The goal of this web site is to help those interested to use their Spiritual Gifts in order to fulfill the mission Christ has given us to love the world.
