Behave

TODAY’S VERSE

Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry.
James 1:19 (NLT)

TODAY’S THOUGHT
Some passages of scripture are harder to live out than others. We can read, “Love one another” and go away not really doing anything. We deceive ourself or at best, let ourself off the hook because it is not specific enough. I can believe I am, “loving” someone and be way off base. However, James writes today’s verse fairly straightforward. He says that we need to be quick to listen to others. We need to wait before we speak. Then he adds, be very slow at getting mad. How better life would be if we followed James wisdom. But just in case we don’t really understand how serious he is, James adds this admonition, “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.” So today, let’s do what the word says and be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Father, help me today, to be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry.
AMEN

About Ronald

I am a Christian who deeply believes in God and the purposes He has put us on earth for. I started in ministry when I was 20 years old. I have been involved in both evangelism and compassion ministires. I deeply believe in our mission to help those in need. I believe however, that the church has missed our calling. We have not been effective in loving others as we would love ourselves. We have not been using our Spiritual Gifts to make a difference in this world. We have not mobilized to be the salt and light in the world. The goal of this web site is to help those interested to use their Spiritual Gifts in order to fulfill the mission Christ has given us to love the world.
