TODAY’S VERSE
O LORD, listen to my cry; give me the discerning mind you promised.
Psalms 119:169 (NLT)
TODAY’S THOUGHT
What do you seek with troubles come? When the stress is really getting to you and you begin to feel helpless, what do you do? God bids us come to Him. God sent us the Holy Spirit, which is the comforter, to guide and lead us. He also has given us the Scriptures. The Psalmist was asking for understanding and discernment and knew that it came from God’s assurances and promises. The Apostle Paul also knew the power of God’s promises and assurances and wrote to his own disciple Timothy, “All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.” Today, cry out to God. Let Him know what is on your mind and then let Him give you the confidence, discernment and understanding you need, through His word.
TODAY’S PRAYER
Dear Holy Spirit, please comfort me, guide me and give me the discernment and understanding that I need for my life. Teach me through the Holy Scriptures I pray. In Jesus’ name.
AMEN
