Refuge

TODAY’S VERSE

Then I pray to you, O LORD. I say, “You are my place of refuge. You are all I really want in life.”
Psalms 142:5 (NLT)

TODAY’S THOUGHT
It’s not just what you pray that counts. The reason you pray is just as important. God loves you and knows your need before you pray. Listen to the despair and emotion that David was feeling when he prayed today’s verse. He was hiding in a cave and wrote, “I cry out to the LORD; I plead for the LORD’s mercy. I pour out my complaints before him and tell him all my troubles. I look for someone to come and help me, but no one gives me a passing thought!” God heard more than David’s words. He felt David’s needs and David knew it. That is why David could write, “You are my place of refuge. You are all I really want in life.” The truth is, God is all we need in life! Today, know that God is your place of refuge. He knows your circumstance, turn to Him.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Dear Father, I sometimes feel like no one gives me a passing thought. I start to despair, but You gently bid me come, and I come to You. Truly, You are my refuge. Today, I can say, “You are all I really want in life.”
AMEN

About Ronald

I am a Christian who deeply believes in God and the purposes He has put us on earth for. I started in ministry when I was 20 years old. I have been involved in both evangelism and compassion ministires. I deeply believe in our mission to help those in need. I believe however, that the church has missed our calling. We have not been effective in loving others as we would love ourselves. We have not been using our Spiritual Gifts to make a difference in this world. We have not mobilized to be the salt and light in the world. The goal of this web site is to help those interested to use their Spiritual Gifts in order to fulfill the mission Christ has given us to love the world.
