TODAY’S VERSE
Turn and answer me, O LORD my God! Restore the sparkle to my eyes, or I will die.
Psalms 13:3 (NLT)
TODAY’S THOUGHT
David is crying out to God and asking Him to hear him. He pleads with the Lord to restore the sparkle to His eye, to fill him with life again. Have you ever felt overwhelmed? You have tried everything and still your heart is despondent? David felt this way. Just before today’s verse he wrote, “O LORD, how long will you forget me? Forever? How long will you look the other way? How long must I struggle with anguish in my soul, with sorrow in my heart every day?” The good news is that David went to the Lord with his problem. He did not sulk, he did not drown his sorrow or complain to others about how unfair life is. Instead he took his issue to God. And God heard him. David finished the psalm by saying, “But I trust in your unfailing love. I will rejoice because you have rescued me. I will sing to the LORD because he is good to me.” Today, you have a psalm to live out. How will you finish it?
TODAY’S PRAYER
Father, thank You for hearing my prayers. I bring you my grief and ask you to help me. Today I will trust in your unfailing love. I will sing because You are good. Rescue me I pray; return the sparkle to my eyes.
AMEN
