TODAY’S VERSE
One day Jesus told his disciples a story to show that they should always pray and never give up.
Luke 18:1 (NLT)
TODAY’S THOUGHT
Have you ever asked God for something and had to wait? It is not easy. It is so tempting to just give up. I will be the first to admit that many of the things I have asked for over the years were immature at best. But others were sincere coming from the deep yearning of my heart. I understand when a father cannot answer the immature request of a child, but when the request is sincere and justified we just sometimes have to wait. And it is hard. That is why Jesus told a story that illustrated why we should always pray and never give up. God’s love is sure. His power is limitless. Paul said it best in his letter to the Romans, “We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.” Today, talk to God and don’t give up.
TODAY’S PRAYER
Father, forgive me for giving up so easily. Forgive me for not persevering in prayer. Today, I will trust in Your love and not give up.
AMEN
