Do you Know God?

“Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.”
Isaiah 40:28-29 (NIV)

At first glance you can read today’s passage and think that the author is asking a rhetorical question. Who hasn’t heard that the Lord God of the Universe is the everlasting God, creator of the ends of the earth? If you were going to believe in a God, wouldn’t you want one that was all-powerful? No doubt you would want God to be the everlasting creator, who never tires and has understanding that is beyond our comprehension. But to be complete in your comprehension of God you would need to know that our God is also compassionate to those in need, giving strength to the weary and helping those that are weak. It is this almighty compassionate God that Isaiah is asking about. He asks, “Do you not know? Have you not heard?” Otherwise, have you let the reality of this compassionate God change your life? It is by hoping in the LORD that loves you that you will renew your strength. Trusting in our God who never tires of being merciful to you will cause you to soar on wings like eagles. In fact, Isaiah writes that you will run and not grow weary; you will walk and not be faint. Today put your faith and trust in our everlasting God, the creator of the earth, the God who never tires of being compassionate toward you.

Dear God, how I praise You for Your majesty. You are everlasting, the creator of the earth. Thank You for caring for me and giving me strength.

About Ronald

I am a Christian who deeply believes in God and the purposes He has put us on earth for. I started in ministry when I was 20 years old. I have been involved in both evangelism and compassion ministires. I deeply believe in our mission to help those in need. I believe however, that the church has missed our calling. We have not been effective in loving others as we would love ourselves. We have not been using our Spiritual Gifts to make a difference in this world. We have not mobilized to be the salt and light in the world. The goal of this web site is to help those interested to use their Spiritual Gifts in order to fulfill the mission Christ has given us to love the world.
