TODAY’S VERSE
God loves a person who gives cheerfully.
II Corinthians 9:8 (NLT)
TODAY’S THOUGHT
We don’t talk much about giving, yet we serve a God who has given us everything. The Apostle John quotes Jesus, in that famous verse, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son.” Our God is a generous loving God and He wants us to be the same. In today’s passage Paul is encouraging the church to give. He writes, “You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. For God loves a person who gives cheerfully. And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others.” Look around you, see the various needs and ask God what He would have you do. Whether it is your time, talent or treasure decide how you can get involved. Enjoy it, get enthused, and be cheerful. Remember God promises to take care of all your needs, so help others with theirs.
TODAY’S PRAYER
Father, thank You for Your generous love and kindness toward me. Thank You for providing for all my needs. Help me to partner with You in helping others. I want to give with an enlarged heart and an open hand. Guide and direct me I pray.
AMEN
