TODAY’S VERSE
“I am afraid that I will find quarreling, jealousy, anger, selfishness, slander, gossip, arrogance, and disorderly behavior.”
II Corinthians 12:20 (NLT)
TODAY’S THOUGHT
Paul is concerned about the behavior of the church in Corinth. He was afraid that he would come to Corinth and find the church full of quarreling, jealousy, anger, selfishness, slander, gossip, arrogance and disorderly behavior. As a result, Paul encouraged the people to examine themselves and repent of ungodly behavior. What if Paul came to your church, what would he find? We are human so no doubt he would have similar concerns. So we need to do the same as the Corinth church. We need to examine ourself and ask God to cleanse us of relational sin. We need to ask God to fill our church with His Spirit and really love each other. Today, pray for your church. Pray that together you would be a witness to your community of His love.
TODAY’S PRAYER
Father, I come and pray for my church. I ask that You would fill us with Your Spirit. I pray that You would help us repent of sin and live the life of love that You have called us to. In Jesus’ name.
AMEN
