TODAY’S VERSE
Keep me safe, O God, for I have come to you for refuge.
Psalms 16:1 (NLT)
TODAY’S THOUGHT
Safety, it can be evasive. You can be in the safest place on earth and still feel insecure. The feeling of being unsafe is not a location; it is a state of mind. It is waking up worrying about doing something wrong that day, or dreading that someone will not be pleased with you. It is trying to stay out of trouble and being ready to please everyone. It is walking through our day as if a predator is in the room. We are never fully peaceful, always on guard. David knew trouble. But he also knew safety. He was safe in the cave even when Saul’s army was at the foot of the mountain. Why? Because He knew how to live in God’s presence. He writes, “I know the LORD is always with me. I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me. No wonder my heart is glad, and I rejoice. My body rests in safety. You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence.” God’s presence and His unconditional love for you trumps all fear. Today, go in peace. God’s presence is with you, He is right beside You and you are safe.
TODAY’S PRAYER
Dear Father, I am so tired of feeling unsafe. Today, I surrender my fears to You. I accept Your love for me. Help me be conscious of Your loving presence. In Jesus’ name.
AMEN
