You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!
Isaiah 26:3 (NLT)
It’s harder than it seems. You would think that having God, with all His love for us, all His power, all His knowledge, all His tremendous grace and mercy toward us we would be obsessed with Him! I mean we get excited about sports teams. We become obsessed with television programs. We spend countless hours in pursuit of our interests, hobbies and careers. We think these things will bring us peace, but in actuality they only help us cope with our lack of peace. They are treating the symptoms but never getting to the cause. Instead true peace comes when we make God our magnificent obsession. Isaiah shares that God will keep us in a deep mature peace as we trust in Him. As we fix our thoughts on Him we will become more and more aware of His presence. We will trust Him more, share with Him more, listen to His voice more. This becomes a relationship with God and it is in this continuous relationship that we will find peace. Today, make it the cry of your heart to know Him, to trust Him, to become conscious of Him all throughout the day.
Dear Father, I want to know You. I want to be conscious of Your presence in my life. Today, help me fix my thoughts on You.
