My heart has heard you say, “Come and talk with me.” And my heart responds, “LORD, I am coming.”
Is it a wonder that God said that David was a man after His own heart? David shows why that was true in today’s verse. Here is a respondent David saying, “Lord I am coming.” He heard God and desired with all his heart to meet with Him. Now I would be tempted to give up and say, “I could never be like David” except for the fact this verse is really about God. It is God that made the overture to David. God said, “Come and talk with me.” It was God that loved David and desired David’s fellowship. The good news is that God desires the same with you! He wants you to come and talk with Him. David believed it and responded. What will you do?
Dear Father, today I hear You say to me, “Come and talk with me.” Lord, my heart is responding, “Here I am Lord, I want to talk with You.”
