Helplessness

Helplessness

TODAY’S VERSE
I will boast only in the LORD; let all who are helpless take heart.
Psalms 34:2 (NLT)

TODAY’S THOUGHT
Learned helplessness. That depressive state of mind where we believe that there is nothing we can do to change our situation. We have come to the conclusion that we are both helpless and hopeless in our circumstance. David knew what that felt like. How many battles did he have to fight? How many people did he see die? How long did he have to run from the mad King Saul that wanted him dead for no apparent reason? Yet David sends a message to all who would feel helpless. He says, “Take heart!” He continues writing, “I prayed to the LORD, and he answered me. He freed me from all my fears. – In my desperation I prayed, and the LORD listened; he saved me from all my troubles.” Today know that you are not hopeless, you are not helpless. You can take heart, knowing that you can pray and the Lord will listen. He will free you.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Dear Father. Sometimes I feel so hopeless. Help me. Hear my prayer, answer me and free me from this helplessness. In Jesus’ name.
AMEN

About Ronald

I am a Christian who deeply believes in God and the purposes He has put us on earth for. I started in ministry when I was 20 years old. I have been involved in both evangelism and compassion ministires. I deeply believe in our mission to help those in need. I believe however, that the church has missed our calling. We have not been effective in loving others as we would love ourselves. We have not been using our Spiritual Gifts to make a difference in this world. We have not mobilized to be the salt and light in the world. The goal of this web site is to help those interested to use their Spiritual Gifts in order to fulfill the mission Christ has given us to love the world.
