TODAY’S VERSE
I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them.
I Timothy 2:1 (NLT)
TODAY’S THOUGHT
Paul believed in prayer. He knew its power. More, he knew the power behind the prayer. He knew that God wants us to join Him in His work in this world, so Paul urged the Christians to pray for all people. People that we come in contact with, people we work with, relatives, acquaintances, people in government. Paul wanted us to develop a constant prayer vigilance asking God to help people, intercede for them in their situations and to give thanks for them. How different would life be if we prayed for people we know? How different would the places we work, live and frequent be if we prayed for those we meet? We are part of a divine partnership, a powerful spiritual reality that can make a huge impact if we just talk to God about it. Today, look around you. Pray for those that God brings to your mind. Ask God to help them, intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them.
TODAY’S PRAYER
Dear Father, I want to partner with You in making a difference in this world. Help me to be conscious of those You want me to pray for. Help me pray for them, intercede for them and give thanks for them. I pray this in Jesus’ name.
AMEN
