TODAY’S VERSE
Teach me your ways, O LORD, that I may live according to your truth!
Psalms 86:11 (NLT)
TODAY’S THOUGHT
When is truth not true? When it is a lie! Just because you believe something is true doesn’t mean it is! There are many things that we believe about life, ourself and even God that are wrong. “I am unloveable.” “God can’t forgive me.” “I am damaged goods.” “God doesn’t care about me.” “It’s no use trying.” These core beliefs come out of life experiences and our immature interpretation of those events. When we use words like always and never we are making huge assumptions that leave little room for faith and grace. That is why we must be retaught. David wrote, “Teach me your ways, O Lord, that I may live according to your truth!” Jesus said, “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.” Paul wrote, “All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.” Why live your life believing deep seated lies? Bring all your beliefs to God. Ask Him to teach you truth through the power of the Holy Spirit and His word.
TODAY’S PRAYER
Dear Father, I need to know and believe the truth. Please teach me through Your Holy Spirit and the Bible what the truth about You, life and myself really is.
AMEN
