How Should We Live?

TODAY’S VERSE
“And we are instructed to turn from godless living and sinful pleasures. We should live in this evil world with wisdom, righteousness, and devotion to God, while we look forward with hope to that wonderful day when the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, will be revealed. He gave his life to free us from every kind of sin, to cleanse us, and to make us his very own people, totally committed to doing good deeds.”
Titus 2:11-14

TODAY’S THOUGHT
Sometimes we lose focus. It is easy to get distracted and forget what life is really about. We get our priorities mixed up. However, in today’s passage Paul makes it quite simple. He instructs us to turn from living out godless and sinful pleasures. Paul calls them pleasures so it can be a difficult choice to turn away. However, he reminds us that they are godless and sinful pleasures so the end never justifies the means. Instead, we are to live in this world with hope, wisdom, righteous living and a devotion to God. But how can we do this? How can we possibly resist godless and sinful pleasures and live with hope, wisdom, righteous living and devotion to God? There is only one way. Paul ends this passage with the answer. He writes, “Christ Himself gave His life to free us from every kind of sin, to cleanse us, and to make us his very own people, totally committed to doing good deeds.” What glorious provision. What a mighty plan. Today, let this be your reality. Let this thought permeate everything you do: “God loves you so much that He sent His son Jesus Christ to die on the cross and resurrect from the dead so you could be free from every kind of sin, totally cleansed and committed to doing good deeds.”

TODAY’S PRAYER
Father, thank You for the hope, wisdom and righteousness that You give me. Thank You for freeing me from every kind of sin and totally cleansing me. Help me today to turn from godless and sinful pleasures and devote myself to You and the good deeds You created me for. In Jesus’ name.
AMEN

About Ronald

I am a Christian who deeply believes in God and the purposes He has put us on earth for. I started in ministry when I was 20 years old. I have been involved in both evangelism and compassion ministires. I deeply believe in our mission to help those in need. I believe however, that the church has missed our calling. We have not been effective in loving others as we would love ourselves. We have not been using our Spiritual Gifts to make a difference in this world. We have not mobilized to be the salt and light in the world. The goal of this web site is to help those interested to use their Spiritual Gifts in order to fulfill the mission Christ has given us to love the world.
