Trust God In The Darkness

TODAY’S VERSE
I can never get away from your presence! If I go up to heaven, you are there; if I go down to the grave, you are there. If I ride the wings of the morning, if I dwell by the farthest oceans, even there your hand will guide me, and your strength will support me. I could ask the darkness to hide me and the light around me to become night—but even in darkness I cannot hide from you. To you the night shines as bright as day. Darkness and light are the same to you.
Psalms 139:7-12

TODAY’S THOUGHT
There is a difference in trusting God when things are going well and when everything seems to go all wrong. It can get so difficult. Sometimes we just end up in the dark. However, we are reminded by Isaiah that we can trust God in the darkness. Isaiah says even “without a ray of light, trust in the Lord and rely on your God.” David shares that we can never be anywhere that God is not present. He says that to God, the night shines as bright as day and that darkness and light are the same to him. Robert M. Cheyne wrote, “If I could hear Christ praying for me in the next room, I would not fear a million enemies! Yet distance makes no difference. He is praying for you.” Neil Anderson has written many books on spiritual darkness and in his book, “Praying By the Power of the Spirit” writes about his own time in darkness. He had to lean on his faith. He had to make a choice to “never doubt in darkness what God has shown me in the light.”
Where are you today? Are you in the light? Praise God, soak it in. Be thankful, learn at the feet of Christ so you will have plenty to guide you in the dark. Are you in the dark today? Stop for a moment. Quiet yourself. Listen for His voice. He is there with you. Remember the light and walk in the darkness with the same faith. Light will come in the morning!

TODAY’S PRAYER
Dear Father, it is so hard in the darkness. Thank You that nothing can separate me from Your love. Even here in the dark You are with me. Help me to trust You. Help me not to doubt in the dark what you have shown me to be true in the light. Thank You, Lord, that even this will pass; light will come in the morning.
In Jesus’ name.
AMEN

About Ronald

I am a Christian who deeply believes in God and the purposes He has put us on earth for. I started in ministry when I was 20 years old. I have been involved in both evangelism and compassion ministires. I deeply believe in our mission to help those in need. I believe however, that the church has missed our calling. We have not been effective in loving others as we would love ourselves. We have not been using our Spiritual Gifts to make a difference in this world. We have not mobilized to be the salt and light in the world. The goal of this web site is to help those interested to use their Spiritual Gifts in order to fulfill the mission Christ has given us to love the world.
