Be The Light

TODAY’S VERSE
“You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.”
Matthew 5:14-15

TODAY’S THOUGHT
Light. You never really appreciate it until you are in the dark. We take light for granted. I remember one night having to hike deep in a forest on a mountain side. I had to get to a destination by morning and all I had was a dim flashlight. All night long I appreciated every ray that emanated from the head of that lifesaving light. The next day on the way back I saw that I had walked for miles along the top of a deep ravine. Without the light I am sure I would have perished. As Christians, we are the light for the world. We are the illumination on the path that leads through the wilderness along the dangerous ravine. Jesus reminds us that we must not hide the light but instead should put it where everyone can see by it brightness. He concludes with this command, “In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.” Today you have a choice. You can contribute to the darkness of those around you or you can be the light. There is no neutral ground. When God gives us opportunity today, might we shine with the Love of Christ so that God will get the praise and glory.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Father, I pray that today You would shine Your light through me as You guide me to the darkness that You want me to shine upon. Help me see the needs around me and respond with Your love and compassion so others will praise You. In Jesus’ name.
AMEN

About Ronald

I am a Christian who deeply believes in God and the purposes He has put us on earth for. I started in ministry when I was 20 years old. I have been involved in both evangelism and compassion ministires. I deeply believe in our mission to help those in need. I believe however, that the church has missed our calling. We have not been effective in loving others as we would love ourselves. We have not been using our Spiritual Gifts to make a difference in this world. We have not mobilized to be the salt and light in the world. The goal of this web site is to help those interested to use their Spiritual Gifts in order to fulfill the mission Christ has given us to love the world.
